Heathlands Park Public Meeting 26th July 2010 - Minutes



Work started on Monday 7th June on the fence part of the "Fedge" which will mark the Eastern boundary of the Heathlands Park Site. Led by The Sheffield Landscape Trust and assisted by local community volunteers a number of posts were firmly planted in the earth (and rock !).
Further work is being undertaken on Thursday 29th July, Wednesdays 18th and 25th August, and Wednesdays 1st and 8th September. So, if you fancy giving a hand in shaping your community space why not pop along and assist us (Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for landscaping work and please note that all children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
Update 8th and 11th September We will be planting 500 wildflowers each day in the wildflower area. All welcome.
The Park Fence Goes Up

  
  
  

The Sheffield Landscape Trust personnel will be on site from around 10:30am and will finish around 3pm on each of the above dates. Meet at the black railings at the "hammerhead" at the top of Oxclose Park Way.
The Orchard Fence Goes Up
Local residents together with Sheffield Landscape Volunteers continue work on the fences which will enclose the Community Orchard.

As part of an ongoing strategy to deter off road motorbikes from creating a hazard to residents and children on Heathlands Park, the Police are displaying this notice around the Park as a final warning.

  Bikes and other illegal vehicles can now be seized the first time they are stopped.
